SETU Software Systems
SETU Software Systems Pvt. Ltd., is a start-up company based in Hyderabad, India. The company was incubated in IIIT's incubation center. SETU was founded by Dr. Prasad Pingali, and Dr. Vasudeva Varma, both of them faculties at IIIT, Hyderabad. Before starting the company, Prasad and Vasu worked on a research project called 'WebKhoj' to address some of the issues facing Indian language web search. This study motivated them to pursue the search engine issues facing other non-English languages.
Web 3.0 is going to be the next big wave on the internet, and signs of early adoption of these technologies are already visible. It is a concept which requires websites and content creators (pretty much every one who has interent presence), to semantify and inter-connect data items / concepts. This would make Web 3.0 graph struc ture much more dense and complex. Both the publishers of web 3.0 and consumers of web 3.0 will heavily depend on automated programs to do this task.
SETU's suite of products help organizations semantify their content very quickly and provide it in RDF standard formats that can be understood by semantic search eng ines of the future. These tools would also help organizations reap the early benefits of semantic web to improve information access and efficiency.
SETU, which means a bridge in Sanskrit, was founded to bridge information access barriers due to human language complexity. SETU was also coined as an acronym for 'Search and Extraction Technologies Unlimited'. Setooz, the web search engine built at SETU, is an English plural of the word SETU and means bridges.

Setooz, worlds first local language search engine, is the flagship product. Apart from keyword search, SETU also provides Information extraction, Information summarization, Enterprise search, and site search services. Setooz (pronounced as say-th-uuz) is a web search engine catering to most of the "long-tail" of the world. This engine is designed to understand different morphological variations of keywords and their spelling forms, thereby increasing the chance of finding the information you are looking for. Setooz aims to become the world's local language search engine. The search engine in Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Polish, Hungarian, Slovakian, Bulgarian, Greek and Turkish, Arabic, Persian and Urdu. Setooz is a search engine with some language intelligence.
Setooz is designed to automatically learn the nuances of a language based on the way users search on the website. The search engine can then use such learning to perform a wide variety of tasks, such as recognizing a language text to understanding the morphology of the language. This directly improves the quality of the search in a local language.
